    The perspective of university academics on remote teaching during Covid-19 pandemic

    Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has impacted global education, and to prevent the spread of disease, the world have adopted remote teaching. The aim of this study was to determine the university academics perspective towards various aspects of remote teaching during COVID-19 pandemic. According to the findings, the majority of academics had no remote teaching prior experiences and most of them appeared to be unsatisfied with the provided online training of online teaching, online teaching platforms, Internet access, students’ participation, online assessment, delivering the content of the subjects they taught, and teaching practical-based subjects. The current study provided essential insights for policymakers in higher education to look over the aspects that hinder the process of remote teaching in Iraq

    The Relationships Between Students' Attitudes Towards Information Technology, Computer Self-efficacy, Self-esteem And Their Academic Achievements In Koya University

    The purpose of the study was to investigate factors underlying the attitude towards IT and computer self-efficacy among students, and the relationships between students' attitudes towards information technology, the use of PowerPoint by lecturers in class, computer self-efficacy, and self-esteem with their academic achievements. The study approach was carried out via a quantitative method with a survey design. The sample size was selected from the second and fourth year students, consisted of 800 respondents who were randomly selected using proportional stratified random sampling from the Koya University. The survey consists of two sections. Section one contains the respondents' demographic information. Section two discusses the attitude towards IT, attitude towards the use of PowerPoint, computer self-efficacy, and self-esteem. The response rate was 85.1 %. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Pearson's correlation, and t-tests were run to answer the research questions. Principal Component Analysis used for the self-developed questionnaire produced three factor solutions of attitude towards IT, and two factor solutions of computer self-efficacy. The t-test results revealed a statistically significant difference between Arts and Science students in terms of their attitude towards IT and computer self-efficacy in favor of Science students. Furthermore, self-esteem is in favor of Arts students, with the exception of attitude towards PowerPoint, where no statistically significant difference was found

    Proper Communication Styles in Educational Setting from Lecturers’ Perspectives

    This study aims to find out the underlying factors of proper communication styles in educational settings from lecturers’ perspectives. It also tries to find out if there is any significant difference between male and female lecturers’ perspectives towards proper communication styles, and attempts to determine if there are differences between the private and public universities. Analyzing the data from self-developed questionnaire, yielded four factors; namely (listening, oral, writing, and body language) were derived from the varimax rotated matrix. The results revealed a statistically significant difference between the private and public universities lecturers’ perspectives towards proper communication. While, no statistically significant difference was found between male and female lecturers in their perspective towards listening, oral, and writing proper communication. The only difference found was in body language communication and it was in favor of female lecturers. The findings of this study will contribute in understanding factors of proper communication styles in educational setting
